2004 UPDATES AND FOUND DATA
The World Ledge Association moved through the year 2004 with many major events and records. Players came from around the world last February to enter the Hawaiian Festival Tournament. That single event set the mood for the rest of the year. The WLA was lucky to have found such a great opportunity to have fun. Thanks to everyone at Belly Acres and all of the Sea View Ledge Players Association who helped play along.
2004 was the year of expansion.
New Officially Sanctioned and Certified Ledge Courts have been installed. Aside from the Original Café Ledge Court and the Mobile Ledge Court #1, there are now 2 additional locations.
The Ream Business Center Court opened immediately after the tournament. It is located in the recreational center of their business. It is know for its lanai atmosphere and has no ante fee. That’s right, they’ll let you play for free.
The second court, new to the world, is located at the Jungle Retreat and Bike Repair owned and operated by Stanley Lathers. It is known for its Out Door Flair and Concrete Court. It is the First and Only Concrete Ledge Court in the world.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DOC.
The WLA had received many reports of many new World Records coming from The Ream Business Center Court . Doc had been steadily improving all year. He placed well in the Hawaiian Ledge Tourney.
That was when he realized "Ledge is more than a game" plus it brought him closer to his kids. Norma, his wife, is still looking for that special meaning.
Throughout the year, Doc worked on his officiating and score keeping skills so as to master the requirements set by the WLA for such duties. He understands both the psychological and mathematical nuances needed to inspire and master the game.
You may be seated.
All the following stats are WLA Records.

New Rules and other WLA Sanctioned and Certified Information
Under the guide lines set by the WLA Rules Committee, all new rules go into effect with the first game of 2005.
Several rules have been changed, modified and or clarified.
· The 51 Rule Changed to The 36 Rule.
Under the 51 Rule, all games automatically shut down after all players have thrown 51 times and no player has closed all three lines.
Under the 36 Rule, all games automatically shut down after all players have thrown 36 times and no player has closed all three lines.
· Kids can play, if they have a quarter. Part of the no kid left behind program, not the same as Bush’s No Child Left Behind Program. The WLA wants the kid’s parents to pay…..cash.
· Other subtle rules have been changed but you probably need to be here to get them all.
· A complete set of WLA Rules and Game procedures is available to all Members In Good Standing and come free when you order a WLA Sanctioned and Certified Court and Balls. All can buy a copy at Café Ledge for $2. This offer is not available anywhere else, come pick up yours.
The WLA is looking forward to the new year of game stats and new world records.
Everyone in the world is invited to come play at Café Ledge.
